K-9 Unit

Summit County Utah K-9 Unit

The Summit County Utah Sheriff’s Office Police K-9 consists of four deputies and four dogs working as a team.

Sergeant Jeremie Forman, K9 Tank (a 4 year old Bloodhound).

Deputy Vince Nguyen, K9 G’Orka (a 4 year old Belgian Malinois).

Deputy Jeff Mackay, K9 Sombo (a 4 year old Dutch Shepherd).

Deputy Joe Carter, K9 Jax (a 6 year old Belgian Malinois).

The K-9 Units and thier dogs are required to re-certify annually.

The K9 unit is used for narcotic searches, building searches, tracking suspects, and locating evidence. They also perform public demonstrations throughout the year for various groups and schools.

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office K9 program was established in 1995, and currently falls into the Patrol Bureau. Please contact the Sheriff’s Office at (435) 615-3500 to arrange a demonstration.
